The main goal of the Summer Academy on Student Participation is to exchange ideas, tools and experiences in order to develop a plan for the video tutorials on how to prepare and conduct student-led projects. The initiative is a part of the UNICOMM – UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY ACTIVE PARTICIPATION PROJECT. When? July 8-12 (five days, from Monday to Friday) Where? University of Warsaw Main meeting place: Volunteer Centre UW Dobra 56/66, Warsaw (University of Warsaw Library Building – BUW)
Why is it worth participating in?
It’s an occasion to gain and develop skills, such as teamwork, effective communication, creative thinking.
Participants will exchange their experiences on how to be a leader of successful student initiatives as well as how to promote and organise student campaigns.
During the Summer Academy, participants will also discuss the topic of designing and conducting more inclusive projects at universities.
There will be time for relaxation activities, focusing on wellbeing, and discovering the history and secrets of the University of Warsaw.
We provide lunches, coffee breaks and one integration dinner.
Participants will work in a diverse, international team with experienced trainers and facilitators. You will meet students and staff from European higher education institutions.
It’s a great opportunity to co-create an international, Erasmus+ project and work on results that will serve academic institutions across Europe.
After successful completion of the Summer Academy participants receive:
Certificate of participation in the international project UNICOMM
Gift pack from the University of Warsaw
The opportunity to get involved in the next stage of the project, i.e. creating video tutorials and being listed on the creators list.
The profile of the Summer Academy participant:
Current UW student (both Polish and international)
Experienced in engagement in extracurricular activities at the university
Fully available from July 8 to 12, 2024
Open and wanting to gain new knowledge
Fluent in English
People wanting to create an inclusive and active higher education community
By June 10, send an e-mail with an attached cover letter containing answers to two questions:
What is your experience as a student engaged in extracurricular activities? (what initiatives have you been involved in, what was your role etc.)
Why do you want to take part in the Summer Academy?
Cover letter length: 2000 signs with spaces. The application must also include written confirmation of full availability from July 8 to 12. Send an e-mail with a cover letter to: wolontariat@uw.edu.pl
Selected candidates will be invited to participate. The number of places is limited.
