An intense and very creative start to the holidays is behind us!
From July 8th to 12th, the Volunteer Centre of the University of Warsaw (VC UW) transformed into a space for international exchange of experiences, knowledge, skills, and ideas. All thanks to the Summer Academy on Student Participation – an event held as part of the UNICOMM – UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY ACTIVE PARTICIPATION PROJECT. Among the participants were students and university staff from institutions in the Czech Republic, Austria, Belgium, Finland, and Italy.

The event’s program was filled with workshops, creative work, and discussions, but there was also time for relaxation and integration. Participants of the Summer Academy had the opportunity to take part in yoga classes and discover the history of the University of Warsaw during a guided tour of the Main Campus.

The main topic of the event was creating more inclusive and engaging projects, as well as building the academic community. During workshops and meetings, participants had the chance to share their experiences and collectively discuss:

What contributes to the success of projects;
How to implement and promote student campaigns;
What motivates to engage and what is challenging;
How to ensure psychological safety in teamwork;
How the university can support and recognise student engagement;
How to create projects with the international university community and working students in mind.

The outcome of the week-long meeting includes four video-tutorial scenarios that will be implemented by VC UW with the support of volunteers.

Wyjątkowy początek wakacji! Summer Academy on Student Participation za nami

Za nami wyjątkowo intensywny, ale też inspirujący i owocny początek wakacji!
Od 8 do 12 lipca Uniwersyteckie Centrum Wolontariatu zmieniło się w przestrzeń międzynarodowej wymiany doświadczeń, wiedzy, umiejętności i pomysłów. Wszystko za sprawą Summer Academy on Student Participation – wydarzenia realizowanego w ramach UNICOMM – UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY ACTIVE PARTICIPATION PROJECT. Wśród uczestniczek i uczestników wydarzenia znalazły się osoby studiujące oraz pracujące na uczelniach w Czechach, Austrii, Belgii, Finlandii czy we Włoszech.

Program wydarzenia wypełniony był warsztatami, pracą kreatywną i dyskusjami, ale nie zabrakło również czasu na relaks i integrację. Uczestniczki i uczestnicy Summer Academy mogli wziąć udział m.in. w zajęciach jogi oraz odkryć historię UW podczas oprowadzania po Kampusie Głównym.

Tematem przewodnim wydarzenia było tworzenie bardziej inkluzywnych projektów angażujących i budujących społeczność akademicką. Podczas warsztatów i spotkań uczestniczki i uczestnicy mieli okazję wymienić się swoim doświadczeniem oraz wspólnie zastanowić się:

co wpływa na sukces projektów;
jak realizować i promować kampanie studenckie;
co motywuje do działania, a co stanowi wyzwania;
jak dbać o bezpieczeństwo psychologiczne podczas pracy w zespole;
jak uczelnia może wspierać i doceniać zaangażowanie studenckie,
jak tworzyć projekty z myślą o międzynarodowej społeczności uczelni oraz osobach pracujących.

Rezultatem tygodniowego spotkania są cztery scenariusze, które zostaną zrealizowane przez UCW UW przy wsparciu wolontariuszek i wolontariuszy. Zachęcamy do obserwowania naszej strony i mediów społecznościowych, aby być na bieżąco z efektem tych prac oraz kolejnymi etapami projektu UNICOMM!
