European STEP Training – productive and interesting Winter Break with VC UW!

If you are an active student, often taking part in various events, projects, and activities, we would like to invite you to spend the Winter Break with us, in a productive and interesting way! The online training will allow you to reflect on your experience and share ideas how to develop it in a useful and effective way. You will also meet your peers from other European countries! Join us on the online Training on the Student Engagement Recognition and Competences Development in order to:


  • Become part of a network of trained ambassadors on the matter of student engagement, student engagement skills and recognition; 
  • Reflect on the recognition of student engagement in a European perspective, in a multicultural and multi-stakeholder context; 
  • Train for the implementation of recognition measures in higher education. 
  • Train for the identification and development of engagement skills; 
  • Evaluate and appropriate the tools Europass, Youthpass and ECVET.

Why is it worth participating?

  • You will have an opportunity to share your ideas and needs on the topic of student engagement recognition (for instance, what in your opinion would be a valuable way of recognition of your experience gained during volunteering, cultural engagement, participation in various projects on your studies etc.)
  • You will cooperate with students and university staff from all around Europe, so you will also have an opportunity to learn how it looks like at other universities, and exchange some good practices.
  • You will gain knowledge on European frames of skills recognition, and develop skills such as teamwork, intercultural communication, communication in English, advocating on important issues in diverse circumstances and environments. 
  • You will receive a certificate of participation in the European STEP training and become a member of the network of the Ambassadors of the Project.

When and how?

  • The online training will take place between the 15th and 17th of February 2021 (each day from 10am to 3pm, including breaks). Participants will receive a series of preparatory materials in order to have sufficient knowledge of the subject. 
  • The three-day interactive training will consist of the following modules:
    • Day 1 – Skills Gained Through Student Engagement
    • Day 2 – Advocating for Recognition of Student Engagement
    • Day 3 – Become an Ambassador of Student Engagement
  • The working language will be English therefore good command of spoken and written English is required.

How to apply?

There is a two-step application process (due to the Project requirements only current students of the UW may apply).

If you would like to participate, please send us an email with the description of your engagement experience and describe your idea on how universities can support engaged students? 

You can write it down, present in visual form, send us a video – whatever form works for you! (Remember only to do this in English)

Subsequently, we will invite chosen participants to fill in an official application form prepared by the coordinators of the event, Animafac France and The European University Foundation.
